I was pleasantly surprised by how good this book is. It
is an easy and fast-paced read. It is just the book to read to get your
mind off everyday things. The characters are very likable and you root for
them to be together in the end. There are also a few surprises along the
way. This book is just a great escape! I, honestly, could not put it down. |

Diane Demore's debut novel weaves a poignant tale that enchants the reader
from the very first chapter. All the elements necessary for this novel to
work are there: passion, secrets and tragedy, with an unexpected twist
that begs for the sequel to be finished soon. This type of novel is often
beset with overworked clichés, but Diane's skillful prose avoids that
trap. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and recommend it without reservation.

I really enjoyed the storyline of the book. The characters were easy to
connect with and the pace of the story made it easier to read than most
books of the genre. Its not your "average romance novel" and the twists
and turns it takes are surprising and fun. I also really liked the care
taken in the background story, as well as the additional "family lines" in
the appendix of the book. In short: it is a great read and I highly
recommend it! |

I started reading this book last night and went to bed after chapter
three. I picked it back up at noon and finished it three and a half hours
later. I simply couldn't put it down! For a first time novel I am greatly
impressed! I like that you don't have to spend page after page drudging
through constant details. The author keeps a steady pace throughout, not
too fast, but not so slow to lose the reader's interest. I am very anxious
for the next installment!

This book by first time author Diane DeMore is a gorgeous book not just to
look at but to read. The characters are believable and I found myself
getting very attached to them. It moves along at a steady pace and keeps
the reader interested , there was no part that I wanted to rush through.
The printed style is easy on the eye and the short chapters make it great
for busy people who want to sneak in a bit of reading now and then.
I am looking forward to the sequel and I am sure this author will have a
wonderful career ahead of her.
